About Me

When I started the blog, January 2009:

This site is all about a computer engineer that is trying to learn Psychology. Computers are easy to understand, logic, predictable… unlike people… or maybe they are more alike than we think.

I studied computer engineering and started to work in the field some years ago and I keep struggling to understand people.

Two years ago, I decided to study towards a Psychology Degree at a virtual University in my home country. I live in London and study in Spain, that’s the deal. It is progressing very slowly because I have not much spare time and every now and again I decide to take a sabbatical from University.

I hereby declare that this is my very last attempt to understand human behavior and, who knows, maybe I will end up with the opportunity to change my professional orientation to something less demanding in terms of dedication and more rewarding than just 0s and 1s.

May 2010:

Many things have happened in the past year and a half. I stopped studying psychology, I decided to quit my job and take some time off to relax and prepare for my next challenge, I am learning how to play piano, I am still learning German, I have travelled to some nice places during this time, I am helping my parents getting up to speed with Internet and its possible uses…

I think I am learning a lot about human behaviour in the process. I am learning even more than when I was dutifully dedicated to the study of psychology. I already know what I want to do next and I am going to try and make that dream come true. I hope I can share the process with you.

September 2010:

Going back to work. The sabbatical period is over and I am going back to what I like most, working in an exciting project again. I have had different moments during my period off, some better than others. One thing is clear now to me, regardless of whether you are working or not, happiness and inner peace are not related to what you do, it is related to something much deeper than that.

2012:

I work from home now. A new challenge with a different way of understanding work and workplace. Now my office is at home and I have to develop my own self-discipline to stop working when the day is over and start the next morning. It is easier to leave all the work windows open and do little things all along.

But it is not good for health!

This new job is about building a good test team. I am making progress, and I am happier every day with our deliverables. Undoubtedly there are a lot of things to do, but being part of an awesome team and working towards them is what makes every day worthwhile at work.
